Pokémon GO receives its first update

Pokémon GO on Tuesday received its first update on the App Store having the change to version 1.0.1. The update was released to address several bugs and issues experienced and reported by its users. One of the primary concern for this update is to correct the full access request on Google account of its registered users.

What’s New in Version 1.0.1

Thank you for your incredible response and support of Pokémon GO! We are working hard to improve the experience for everyone. This update focuses on making Pokémon GO more stable with the following improvements:

– Trainers do not to have to enter their username and password repeatedly after a force log out
– Added stability to Pokémon Trainer Club account log-in process
– Resolved issues causing crashes
– Fixed Google account scope

The update was released a week after the initial launch of the game. It is good to know that Niantic Labs is being proactive when it comes to updating the game. Since the update contains only bugs fixes, there are no new features being introduced in the release changelog. Most users are anticipating the update that will present the ability to trade with friends or other people.

On the screenshot above, you will notice that the app now asks for permission on accessing your Google account information unlike before. Some users reported that the update did not automatically fixed the Google account full access permission problem. If you are not sure whether the permission was fixed on your Google account, you can check it by going to your Google account’s connected apps and sites found under My Account → Connected apps & sites or simply follow our tutorial. You will need to remove the old permission to be able to acquire the limited access rights for Pokémon GO. Once done, it will now show basic access and your account will now be safe.

Update: Pokémon GO once again received a new update addressing the issue with Pokémon Trainer Club login. Some users are reporting that once they did the previous update, the Pokémon Trainer Club login begin to stop working.
